Well, you need to find out if the colleges are accredited, and if they sponsor internship or externship programs. To help you find out some of these crucial details before you make your selection, we have put together a list of questions that you should ask the colleges you are looking at.

Are the Radiology Tech Schools Accredited? Most radiology tech colleges have received some type of accreditation, whether regional or national. Among the most highly respected accrediting agencies in the field of radiology is the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT). Programs earning accreditation from the JRCERT have gone through an extensive review of their teachers and course materials. If the program is online it can also receive accreditation from the Distance Education and Training Council, which focuses on distance or online learning. All accrediting agencies should be acknowledged by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation. Besides ensuring a premium education, accreditation will also assist in acquiring financial assistance and student loans, which are many times not offered for non-accredited schools. Accreditation might also be a pre-requisite for certification and licensing as required. And numerous Three Rivers CA health facilities will only hire a graduate of an accredited college for entry-level openings.

Are Internship Programs Sponsored? Find out if the xray tech schools you are interested in have partnerships with area hospitals or clinics for internship programs. Rapid and high placement rates are an excellent sign that the schools have sizable networks and great relationships with California healthcare employers. It also corroborates that their graduates are well regarded and in demand.

Where is the School Located? For many students, the college they choose will have to be within travelling distance of their Three Rivers CA home. Those who have opted to attend classes online naturally will not have to concern themselves with the location of the campus. However, the availability of area internships will be of importance. Something to consider is that if you decide to enroll in a school that is out of state or perhaps out of your local area, you might have to pay a higher tuition. State colleges normally charge higher tuitions for out of state residents. And community colleges generally charge a higher tuition for those students that don’t reside within their districts.

How Big are the Classes ? Unless you are the type of student that prefers to sit way in the back of class or get lost in the crowd, you will undoubtedly prefer a smaller class size. Small classes enable more individual participation and personalized instruction. Ask the Three Rivers CA schools you are looking at what the average teacher to student ratio is for their classes. If practical you may want to monitor one or more classes before making your final determination. This will also give you an opportunity to talk with some of the students and instructors to get their perspectives regarding the radiology tech program also.

Can the School Accommodate your Schedule? And last you must confirm that the radiographer  school you ultimately choose can offer the class schedule you need. This is particularly essential if you choose to continue working while attending classes.
