    According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.26 square miles (0.67 km2), of which 0.25 square miles (0.65 km2) is land and 0.01 square mile (0.03 km2) is water.[2] The town is located on the floodplain of the Missouri River, near the edge of the Loess Hills, adjacent to the old (meandered) channel of the West Fork of the Little Sioux River.

There were 113 housing units at an average density of 452.0 per square mile (174.5/km2). The racial makeup of the city was 98.2% White, 0.4% African American, 0.4% Asian, 0.4% from other races, and 0.4% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.9% of the population.
