You will also need to determine if you want to attend online classes or commute to a nearby campus. If you opt for the latter, then obviously the location of the school will be relevant. The cost of tuition and secondary expenditures will be a determining factor as well. But along with location and cost, what else should you look at when comparing schools? Well, you need to check out if the schools are accredited, and if they sponsor externship or internship programs. To help you uncover some of these essential details prior to making your selection, we have compiled a list of questions that you should ask the colleges you are assessing.

Are the Radiology Tech Schools Accredited? A large number of radiology tech colleges have received some form of accreditation, whether regional or national. Nevertheless, it’s still crucial to verify that the program and school are accredited. One of the most highly respected accrediting agencies in the field of radiology is the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT). Programs obtaining accreditation from the JRCERT have gone through an extensive assessment of their teachers and course materials. If the school is online it can also obtain accreditation from the Distance Education and Training Council, which targets online or distance education. All accrediting organizations should be recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation. In addition to guaranteeing a premium education, accreditation will also help in getting financial aid and student loans, which are frequently not offered for non-accredited schools. Accreditation may also be a pre-requisite for licensing and certification as required. And numerous Bardwell KY health facilities will only hire a graduate of an accredited school for entry level positions.

Are Internships Sponsored? Inquire if the xray technician colleges you are evaluating have partnerships with area hospitals or clinics for internship programs. Not only are internships an excellent means to receive hands on training in a clinical environment, they are additionally a means to fulfill the clinical training requirement for most programs. As a supplemental benefit, they can assist graduates and students form professional relationships in the Bardwell KY medical community and help with job placement.

Is Job Placement Help offered? You will probably want to hit the ground running after graduating, but getting that first job in Bardwell KY in a new field can be challenging without help. Ask if the radiographer programs you are assessing have job assistance programs and what their success rates are. Rapid and high placement rates are an excellent indication that the schools have sizable networks and good relationships with Kentucky healthcare employers. It also corroborates that their graduates are well regarded and sought after.

Where is the College Located? For many students, the school they decide on will have to be within travelling distance of their Bardwell KY home. Students who have decided to attend online classes obviously will not have to worry themselves with the location of the campus. However, the availability of area internships will be of importance. Something to keep in mind is that if you decide to enroll in a school that is out of state or even out of your local area, you may need to pay a higher tuition. State colleges usually charge higher tuitions for out of state residents. And community colleges commonly charge a higher tuition to those students that don’t reside within their districts.

How Large are the Classes ? Unless you are the type of student that likes to sit far in the back of class or hide in the crowd, you will probably want a small class size. Smaller classes permit more individual participation and personalized instruction. Ask the Bardwell KY schools you are reviewing what the average teacher to student ratio is for their classrooms. If practical you may prefer to sit in on one or more classes before making your ultimate decision. This will also give you an opportunity to talk with some of the students and instructors to get their opinions regarding the radiology technician program also.

Does the College Accommodate your Schedule? And last you must confirm that the radiographer  school you finally select can provide the class schedule you need. This is especially crucial if you opt to continue working while attending school. If you must schedule night or weekend classes in the Bardwell KY area, verify that they are offered. If you can only enroll on a part-time basis, find out if that is an alternative and how many credit hours or courses you would have to carry. Also, learn what the protocol is for making up any classes that you may miss because of work, illness or family obligations.

    Bardwell, Kentucky

Bardwell is a home rule-class city in and the county seat of Carlisle County, Kentucky, United States.[2] The city was formally incorporated by the state assembly in 1878.[3] The population was 723 at the 2010 census,[4] down from 799 in 2000.

Bardwell was founded in 1874 when a predecessor rail line of the Illinois Central Railroad was extended to that point. It may have initially been known as "Crittenden" after Governor John J. Crittenden, but that name was already in use elsewhere in the state, so the name was changed to "Bardwell." According to some sources, "Bardwell" was the name of a railroad superintendent whose name had been applied to a railroad construction camp near the town site. Other sources suggest the name was inspired by a "boarded well" at the camp.[5]

During their session of 1877–1878, the Kentucky General Assembly passed an act incorporating Bardwell. The original municipal boundaries consisted of a circle with a radius of 0.5 miles (0.80 km), centered on the local train station for the Illinois Central Railroad.[6]
