    Yarmouth, Maine

Yarmouth is a town in Cumberland County, Maine, located twelve miles north of the state's largest city, Portland. The town was settled, while a district of Massachusetts, in 1636 and incorporated in 1849, 29 years after its admittance to the Union. Its population was 8,349 in the 2010 census. As of 2018's estimation of 8,518, this is about 0.6% of Maine's total population. Five islands (most notably Cousins Island and Littlejohn Island) are part of the town.

The town's proximity to the Atlantic Ocean, and its location on the banks of the Royal River, which empties into Casco Bay less than a mile away, means it is a prime location as a harbor. Ships were built in the harbor mainly between 1818 and the 1870s, at which point demand declined dramatically. Meanwhile, the Royal River's four waterfalls within Yarmouth, whose Main Street sits about 80 feet above sea level, resulted in the foundation of almost sixty mills between 1674 and 1931.

While State Route 115 (whose eastern terminus is at the Marina Road and Lafayette Street intersection) is the town's Main Street, it extends as West Main Street into North Yarmouth (still part of SR 115) and as East Main Street (Route 88) from Lower Falls to Granite Street, two miles away.

    Me!

"Me!" (stylized in all caps) is a song by American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift featuring Brendon Urie of Panic! at the Disco. It was released by Republic Records[1] on April 26, 2019, as the lead single from her upcoming seventh studio album titled Lover. The song was written by Swift, Joel Little and Urie, and produced by Little and Swift.

On April 13, 2019, a countdown to midnight on April 26 appeared on Swift's website, leading to speculation about the release of new music.[2] On April 25, various news outlets reported that a mural of a butterfly in The Gulch neighborhood of Nashville, Tennessee, painted by street artist Kelsey Montague,[3] was connected with the upcoming release.[4] A crowd of several hundred gathered at the mural as the word "ME!" was added to it by Montague.[4][5] While Montague was initially told that the mural was commissioned as promotion for ABC, ESPN and the 2019 NFL Draft,[6] Swift appeared at the mural and revealed that it was in fact part of her countdown promotion and that she would be interviewed by Robin Roberts during the NFL Draft broadcast with further information.[7] At the interview she confirmed the release of a new song and music video at midnight, sharing the title as well as the feature from Urie.[8]

"Me!" is a bubblegum pop[9] and pop[10][11] song, which was written by Swift, Joel Little of Goodnight Nurse and Urie of Panic! At the Disco, and produced by Little and Swift. The night before the release of Me!, a screenshot of the YouTube video upload screen was leaked with the track being filed under alternative and punk.[12] In an interview with Robin Roberts, Swift described the song as about "embracing your individuality and really owning it",[13] saying that "with a pop song, we have an ability to get a melody stuck in people's heads, and I just want it to be one that makes them feel better about themselves, not worse".[14]

    Newfield, Maine

This was part of the large tract sold on November 28, 1668 by Newichawannock Indian Chief Sunday (or Wesumbe) to Francis Small, a Kittery trader. The price was two large Indian blankets, two gallons of rum, two pounds of gunpowder, four pounds of musket balls and twenty strings of beads.[4] The township was surveyed and first settled as Washington Plantation in 1778. A number of settlers had been soldiers in the Revolutionary War. It was incorporated as Newfield on February 25, 1794, and by 1859, the population was 1,418.[4]

The Little Ossipee River runs through Newfield village and once provided water power to operate two gristmills, two lumber mills, a barrel stave mill, a shook mill, a planing mill and a carding mill. West Newfield had a sawmill, gristmill and stave mill. There was an attempt in the community to mine silver and iron, but it was not profitable. By 1880, the population was 995.[5] Newfield would be heavily damaged by the Great Fires of 1947.

Don King of Topsfield, Massachusetts bought an old farm at Newfield in 1965, marking the beginning of what would become Willowbrook Museum Village, a re-created 19th-century village. Other properties and historic buildings were added, together with a collection of early farm implements, tools, carriages and sleighs. The museum is now a tourist attraction.[6]

Well, you need to ask if the colleges are accredited, and if they provide internship or externship programs. All accrediting agencies should be recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation. Where is the Program Located? For a number of students, the school they decide on will have to be within travelling distance of their West Paris ME home. Those who have opted to attend online classes obviously will not have to concern themselves with the location of the campus. However, the availability of local internships will be of importance. One thing to bear in mind is that if you choose to enroll in a school that is out of state or perhaps out of your local area, you might be required to pay a higher tuition. State colleges normally charge higher tuitions for out of state residents. And community colleges usually charge a higher tuition to those students that don’t reside within their districts.

How Big are the Classes ? Unless you are the sort of student that likes to sit far in the back of class or get lost in the crowd, you will probably want a small class size. Smaller classes enable more individual participation and personalized instruction. Ask the West Paris ME schools you are looking at what the typical student to teacher ratio is for their classes. If practical you may want to monitor one or more classes before making your final decision. This will also give you an opportunity to speak with several of the students and instructors to get their opinions regarding the xray technician program also.

Does the Program Accommodate your Schedule? And finally you must confirm that the radiographer  college you finally choose can offer the class schedule you need. This is particularly essential if you opt to continue working while you attend classes. If you need to schedule evening or weekend classes in the West Paris ME area, check that they are available. Westbrook, Maine

Westbrook is a city in Cumberland County, Maine, United States and a suburb of Portland. The population was 17,494 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Portland–South Portland–Biddeford, Maine metropolitan statistical area.

Originally known as Saccarappa after Saccarappa Falls on the Presumpscot River, it was a part of Falmouth until February 14, 1814, when it was set off and incorporated as Stroudwater. It soon changed its name to Westbrook after Colonel Thomas Westbrook, a commander during Father Rale's War and King's mast agent who was an early settler and mill operator.[4] In 1871, Saccarappa amicably split into two municipalities; the current Westbrook and Deering, which was then annexed by Portland in 1898.[5] In 1891, Westbrook was incorporated as a city.[6]

Saccarappa Falls and Congin Falls provided water power for early mills within the city. In 1829, a sawmill was built at the former which made the mill town noted for its lumber. Other industries followed, manufacturing grain bags, machinery and water wheels, carriage and harness, boots, shoes and moccasins, tinware, leather board, bricks, wooden boxes, box shook, meal and flour. The Portland Manufacturing Company built a cotton textile mill at Saccarappa Falls for making "sheetings, stripes and ducks." A paper mill was built at Cumberland Mills, once an Indian planting ground known as Ammoncongin. By 1859, it produced 1,000 tons of paper annually. In 1867, the factory's name would change to the S. D. Warren Paper Mill.[7]

Radiology Technician Degrees Offered near Warren ME

Warren ME x-ray tech school internship programThe standard prerequisite for enrolling in a radiology tech college is to have received a high school diploma or equivalent. Radiologic technologist students have the option to earn either an Associate Degree or a Bachelor’s Degree. An Associate Degree, which is the most prevalent among technicians, generally takes 18 months to 2 years to finish depending on the course load and program. A Bachelor’s Degree will take longer at up to four years to complete and is more comprehensive in nature. Most students select a degree major in Radiography, but there are additional similar majors that are acceptable also. Something to bear in mind is that radiographer colleges have a practical training or lab component as part of their course of study. It may frequently be fulfilled by taking part in an externship program which a large number of schools sponsor through local hospitals and clinics in Warren ME or their area. After you have graduated from any of the degree programs, you will need to comply with any licensing or certification requirements in Maine or the state you will be working as applicable.

    X-Ray Tech Licensing and Certification

Once you have graduated from an x-ray technician college, based on the state where you will be working you may need to be licensed. Most states do require licensing, and their prerequisites differ so get in touch with your state. Currently, all states that do require licensure will recognize The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification examination for the licensing application, but many approve other options for testing as well. Several states also call for certification as a component of the licensing process, otherwise it is voluntary. Having said that, many Warren area employers would rather hire radiology techs that have earned certification so it could increase your career options in and around Warren ME to earn certification. ARRT’s certification program calls for graduation from an approved program as well as a passing score on their rigorous examination. ARRT also requires re-certification every 2 years, which may be fulfilled with 24 credits of continuing ed, or by passing an exam.

    Online X-Ray Tech Degrees

Warren ME student attending online x-ray tech schoolAs a part of any degree program, x-ray tech schools will have clinical or lab training included in their course of study. This is the same for online degree programs. So although you can still earn your online degree, a considerable portion of the training will be satisfied either in a college lab or in an externship off campus. Practical training is often provided in Warren ME family practices, medical clinics or hospitals in sponsorship with the schools. But the online segment of the training can be attended in the privacy of your Warren residence. Students who keep working while obtaining their degree usually discover that the online approach to education is much more practical with their hectic schedules. Plus online schools are often cheaper than on-campus alternatives. Along with reduced tuition, costs for study materials and commuting can be decreased also. But just make certain that the online program you choose is accredited (more on the advantages of accreditation later). So if you are dedicated enough to learn with this less structured type of training, then online classes may be the right option for you.

Subjects to Ask Radiologic Tech Schools

Once you have decided on the kind of degree that you want to obtain, you can begin the process of finding and evaluating x-ray tech schools near Warren ME. You will also have to decide if you prefer to attend classes online or commute to a local campus. If you opt for the latter, then of course the location of the school will be relevant. The price of tuition and secondary expenditures will be a determining variable also. But along with cost and location, what else should you look at when comparing schools? Well, you need to check out if the schools are accredited, and if they sponsor internship or externship programs. To help you uncover some of these important details prior to making your decision, we have compiled a list of questions that you need to ask the programs you are looking at.

Are the Radiology Technician Colleges Accredited? A large number of radiology technician schools have acquired some form of accreditation, whether regional or national. Even so, it’s still crucial to verify that the school and program are accredited. Among the most highly respected accrediting agencies in the field of radiology is the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT). Schools earning accreditation from the JRCERT have undergone a rigorous examination of their teachers and educational materials. If the school is online it might also receive accreditation from the Distance Education and Training Council, which targets online or distance learning. All accrediting organizations should be recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation. Besides ensuring a premium education, accreditation will also help in acquiring financial assistance and student loans, which are frequently not available for non-accredited programs. Accreditation may also be a pre-requisite for licensing and certification as required. And many Warren ME employers will only hire graduates of an accredited college for entry-level jobs.

Are Internship Programs Offered? Find out if the radiology technician programs you are assessing have associations with local hospitals or clinics for internship programs. Not only are internships an excellent way to get practical training in a clinical setting, they are also a means to fulfill the practical training requirement for the majority of programs. As a secondary benefit, they can help graduates and students develop professional connections in the Warren ME healthcare community and assist with obtaining employment.

Is Job Placement Assistance offered? You will probably want to secure employment quickly after graduating, but getting that first job in Warren ME in a new field can be challenging without help. Find out if the radiographer programs you are reviewing have job placement programs and what their success rates are. Rapid and high placement rates are a good indication that the schools have sizable networks and good relationships with Maine healthcare employers. It also substantiates that their students are highly regarded and in demand.

Where is the Program Located? For a lot of students, the college they select will need to be within travelling distance of their Warren ME residence. Those who have decided to attend classes online obviously will not have to worry themselves with the location of the campus. However, the availability of local internships will be of importance. One thing to consider is that if you choose to enroll in a school that is out of state or even out of your local area, you might be required to pay a higher tuition. State colleges normally charge higher tuitions for out of state residents. And community colleges commonly charge a higher tuition for those students that live outside of their districts.

How Large are the Classes ? Unless you are the type of person that prefers to sit way in the back of the classroom or hide in the crowd, you will probably prefer a smaller class size. Small classes permit more individual participation and personalized instruction. Ask the Warren ME colleges you are researching what the typical teacher to student ratio is for their classes. If practical you may prefer to sit in on one or more classes before making your final determination. This will also give you an opportunity to talk with a few of the students and instructors to get their opinions regarding the xray tech program as well.

Can the Program Accommodate your Schedule? And last you need to confirm that the xray tech  school you finally select can provide the class schedule you need. This is particularly important if you choose to continue working while attending school. If you need to schedule evening or weekend classes in the Warren ME area, make certain that they are offered. If you can only attend part-time, find out if that is an option and how many courses or credit hours you would have to carry. Also, learn what the procedure is for making up any classes that you may miss because of work, illness or family obligations.

    Warren, Maine

Warren is a town in Knox County, Maine, United States. The population was 4,751 at the 2010 census. It includes the villages of East Warren, Warren and South Warren, the latter home to the Maine State Prison and minimum security Bolduc Correctional Facility.

Part of the Waldo Patent, it was called the Upper Town of St. Georges Plantation. It was first settled by Scots-Irish settlers from Londonderry in 1736 under the auspices of Brigadier-General Samuel Waldo, its proprietor.[4][5] Development was hindered, however, by the ongoing French and Indian Wars. In 1753, a blockhouse was built and placed under the command of Captain Thomas Kilpatrick, known by terrified Indians as "Tom-kill-the-devil." War raged across Maine between 1754–1758, and local settlers took refuge in the blockhouse or at another in Cushing.[6] Hostilities ended in 1759 with the Fall of Quebec. On November 7, 1776, Upper Town of St. Georges Plantation was incorporated as a town, named after Joseph Warren, a Revolutionary War hero.[7]

Hay was the principal crop. Shipbuilding was an important industry, and between 1770–1850, 224 vessels were built, varying from 53 to 1,127 tons. Warren had quarries to extract granite and limestone. Falls on the St. George River provided water power, with the first sawmill built in 1785. Woolens were manufactured at the Georges River Mills, and snowshoes at the Warren Shoe Factory. The Knox and Lincoln Railroad opened on November 6, 1871.[8]

Presently, all states that do require licensing will recognize The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification examination for the licensing application, but several offer other options for testing as well. A number of states also require certification as part of the licensing process, if not it is voluntary. However, many Washburn area employers favor hiring radiology techs that have earned certification so it may enhance your career options in and around Washburn ME to become certified. ARRT’s certification program requires graduation from an approved program as well as a passing score on their rigorous examination. ARRT also requires re-certification every 2 years, which may be satisfied with 24 credits of continuing ed, or by passing an exam.

    Online X-Ray Tech Schools

Washburn ME student attending online x-ray tech schoolAs a component of every degree program, x-ray tech colleges will have practical or lab training included in their course of study. This is no different for online degree programs. So even though you can still obtain your degree online, a significant portion of the training will be satisfied either in a college lab or in an internship off-campus. Clinical training is typically conducted in Washburn ME family practices, medical clinics or hospitals in sponsorship with the colleges. But the online section of the training may be accessed in the comfort of your Washburn home. Students who continue working while obtaining their degree often discover that the online approach to education is much more practical with their busy schedules. Plus online colleges are generally less costly than traditional options. Along with lower tuition, expenses for commuting and study materials may be lessened as well. But just be sure that the online program you select is accredited (more on the advantages of accreditation later). So if you are motivated enough to learn with this less structured type of training, then online classes may be the ideal choice for you.

    Points to Ask Radiographer Colleges

When you have decided on the type of degree that you would like to earn, you can initiate the process of looking for and evaluating x-ray tech colleges near Washburn ME. You will also have to determine if you want to attend classes online or commute to a local campus. If you opt for the latter, then obviously the location of the school will be critical. The price of tuition and secondary expenses will be a material factor also. But along with cost and location, what else should you factor in when comparing schools? Well, you need to find out if the schools are accredited, and if they provide externship or internship programs. To help you find out some of these crucial details prior to making your decision, we have assembled a list of questions that you should ask the colleges you are reviewing.

Are the Radiology Technician Colleges Accredited? A large number of radiology tech schools have acquired some type of accreditation, whether regional or national. Nevertheless, it’s still crucial to make sure that the program and school are accredited. Among the most highly respected accrediting agencies in the field of radiology is the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT). Schools receiving accreditation from the JRCERT have gone through an extensive review of their teachers and course materials. If the program is online it might also receive accreditation from the Distance Education and Training Council, which focuses on online or distance education. All accrediting organizations should be acknowledged by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation. Along with guaranteeing a premium education, accreditation will also assist in acquiring financial assistance and student loans, which are often not offered for non-accredited programs. Accreditation can also be a pre-requisite for licensing and certification as required. And a number of Washburn ME health facilities will only hire graduates of an accredited college for entry-level positions.

Are Internships Offered? Find out if the xray technician schools you are reviewing have relationships with regional hospitals or clinics for internship programs. Internships are not only an excellent means to get hands on training in a clinical environment, they are also a means to satisfy the clinical training requirement for the majority of programs. As a supplemental benefit, they may help students and graduates establish professional connections in the Washburn ME health care community and help with job placement.

Is Job Placement Help provided? You will undoubtedly want to secure employment quickly after graduation, but getting that initial job in Washburn ME in a new field can be difficult without help. Find out if the x-ray tech programs you are interviewing have job assistance programs and what their placement rates are. High and rapid placement rates are a good indication that the schools have substantial networks and great relationships with Maine healthcare employers. It also substantiates that their students are well regarded and sought after.

Where is the School Located? For a number of students, the school they pick will need to be within commuting distance of their Washburn ME residence. Individuals who have decided to attend online classes naturally will not have to worry themselves with the location of the campus. However, the availability of local internships will be of importance. Something to consider is that if you choose to enroll in a college that is out of state or perhaps out of your local area, you may be required to pay a higher tuition. State colleges often charge higher tuitions for out of state residents. And community colleges typically charge a higher tuition to those students that live outside of their districts.

How Big are the Classes ? Unless you are the kind of student that prefers to sit way in the back of the classroom or get lost in the crowd, you will likely want a smaller class size. Small classes enable more individual participation and personalized instruction. Ask the Washburn ME colleges you are researching what the typical student to teacher ratio is for their classrooms. If practical you may want to sit in on one or more classes before making your final decision. This will also give you an opportunity to speak with some of the instructors and students to get their opinions regarding the radiology tech program also.

Can the Program Accommodate your Schedule? And finally you need to confirm that the radiographer  program you ultimately pick can furnish the class schedule you need. This is particularly essential if you decide to continue working while you attend school. If you need to schedule evening or weekend classes in the Washburn ME area, check that they are offered. If you can only attend part-time, verify if that is an option and how many courses or credit hours you would have to carry. Also, find out what the procedure is for making up any classes that you may miss as a result of work, illness or family emergencies.

    Chris Washburn

A 6'11" center, Washburn was one of the top three high school recruits in the country in 1984, along with John Williams (LSU) and Danny Manning (Kansas). He signed with North Carolina State University, along with future NBA players Vinny Del Negro and Nate McMillan to form one of the best recruiting classes in the nation on a team that also included Spud Webb. A gifted athlete, Washburn combined size with speed for a big man and soft hands.[2]

During his time at N.C. State, he was caught stealing a stereo, which resulted in his being sentenced to 46 hours in jail, a five-year suspended prison term and five years of probation. During his trial, the Wake County district attorney introduced as evidence Washburn's SAT scores, which were below 500 (out of 1600, with 400 being the starting score).[3] "The coaches over there told me, ‘You already signed, you’re already in school, you just have to take the test just to get into college,’ ” Washburn said later. When they told me it didn’t matter what score I was getting, I went in for about 22 minutes. I just marked down [answers] … mark, mark, mark."[4][5]

His work ethic was also called into question.[6] Recruiting analyst Bob Gibbons claimed that Washburn was "never as good as his reputation," even as a high-school All-American. Gibbons was blasted by many N.C. State fans for suggesting that Washburn was going to break the Wolfpack basketball program, in response to coach Jim Valvano's claim that Washburn would make the program.[7]
