    Metamora, Ohio

    The name of Metamora is from a play titled: Metamora, Last of the Wampanoags. Author Edwin Forrest-Tom Kelleher. This Play led three new Midwestern towns—in Ohio, Indiana and Illinois—to adopt the name Metamora.[8]

    According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.84 square miles (2.18 km2), of which 0.83 square miles (2.15 km2) is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 km2) is water.[1]

    As of the census[3] of 2010, there were 627 people, 221 households, and 168 families residing in the village. The population density was 755.4 inhabitants per square mile (291.7/km2). There were 234 housing units at an average density of 281.9 per square mile (108.8/km2). The racial makeup of the village was 99.2% White, 0.2% Native American, and 0.6% from two or more races.
