The price of tuition and ancillary expenses will be a material variable also. But in addition to location and cost, what more should you factor in when comparing schools? Well, you should find out if the schools are accredited, and if they sponsor internship or externship programs. To help you learn some of these essential details prior to making your decision, we have assembled a list of questions that you must ask the colleges you are assessing.

Are the X-Ray Tech Schools Accredited? The majority of xray tech colleges have earned some type of accreditation, whether national or regional. However, it’s still crucial to confirm that the school and program are accredited. Among the most highly respected accrediting organizations in the field of radiology is the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT). Programs earning accreditation from the JRCERT have undergone an extensive review of their teachers and educational materials. If the college is online it can also obtain accreditation from the Distance Education and Training Council, which targets online or distance education. All accrediting agencies should be acknowledged by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation. Besides guaranteeing a quality education, accreditation will also assist in securing financial assistance and student loans, which are many times not offered for non-accredited programs. Accreditation can also be a pre-requisite for licensing and certification as required. And a number of Somerset OH employers will only hire a graduate of an accredited college for entry level openings.

Are Internship Programs Sponsored? Ask if the xray tech schools you are interested in have relationships with local clinics or hospitals for internship programs. Not only are internships a great way to receive practical experience in a clinical setting, they are additionally a way to satisfy the clinical training requirement for the majority of programs. It also confirms that their graduates are well regarded and sought after.

Where is the Program Located? For many students, the school they select will need to be within driving distance of their Somerset OH residence. Students who have chosen to attend classes online naturally will not have to concern themselves with the location of the campus. However, the availability of area internships will be of concern. One thing to keep in mind is that if you decide to enroll in a school that is out of state or perhaps out of your local area, you may have to pay a higher tuition. State colleges commonly charge higher tuitions for out of state residents. And community colleges often charge a higher tuition for those students that don’t reside within their districts.

What Size are the Classes ? Unless you are the kind of student that likes to sit way in the rear of class or hide in the crowd, you will undoubtedly prefer a small class size. Smaller classes enable more individual participation and one-on-one instruction. Ask the Somerset OH schools you are looking at what the average teacher to student ratio is for their classes. If practical you may prefer to monitor one or more classes before making your final determination. This will also give you a chance to speak with a few of the instructors and students to get their opinions regarding the radiology technician program also.

Can the College Accommodate your Schedule? And last you must verify that the xray tech  program you ultimately pick can provide the class schedule you need. This is particularly important if you decide to continue working while attending classes. Somerset, Ohio

Somerset is a village in Perry County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,481 at the 2010 census. It is 9.5 miles north of the county seat New Lexington and has a dedicated historical district.

The village of Somerset was established in 1810 by settlers from Somerset, Pennsylvania at the spot on Zane's Trace located midway between Lancaster and Zanesville.[6] Seven years later, parts of Fairfield, Muskingum, and Washington counties were merged to create Perry County, and the house of a Somerset resident was named the first temporary courthouse.[7]:83 In 1819, the county government arranged for the erection of a purpose-built courthouse in Somerset; while most of the building was used for a jail, it also included a courtroom and space for some county offices. Ten years later, a permanent courthouse was constructed on the village's public square.[7]:133

As the village of New Lexington grew in importance, its residents began to agitate for the county seat to be moved to their community. From 1851 to 1859, the state legislature passed three separate laws to permit the county seat to be moved; contentious elections and a decision by the Supreme Court of Ohio saw the county seat move to New Lexington, back to Somerset, and finally back to New Lexington.[8] After it ceased to be used as a courthouse, the building was leased to Somerset for use as its village hall.[9]
