You will also need to determine if you prefer to attend classes online or commute to a nearby campus. If you opt for the latter, then of course the location of the school will be critical. The cost of tuition and ancillary expenditures will be an important variable also. But in addition to cost and location, what more should you factor in when evaluating colleges? Well, you need to find out if the schools are accredited, and if they sponsor internship or externship programs. To help you find out some of these essential details prior to making your decision, we have assembled a list of questions that you need to ask the programs you are reviewing.

Are the X-Ray Tech Programs Accredited? A large number of xray technician colleges have obtained some type of accreditation, whether national or regional. However, it’s still imperative to make sure that the program and school are accredited. Among the most highly respected accrediting agencies in the field of radiology is the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT). Schools obtaining accreditation from the JRCERT have gone through a rigorous assessment of their instructors and educational materials. If the college is online it may also receive accreditation from the Distance Education and Training Council, which targets distance or online education. All accrediting organizations should be recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation. In addition to guaranteeing a superior education, accreditation will also assist in securing financial aid and student loans, which are often not accessible for non-accredited programs. Accreditation can also be a pre-requisite for licensing and certification as required. And a number of Minor Hill TN employers will only hire a graduate of an accredited program for entry level openings.

Are Internship Programs Sponsored? Ask if the xray tech programs you are interested in have associations with local clinics or hospitals for internship programs. Not only are internships a great way to get practical experience in a clinical setting, they are additionally a means to fulfill the practical training requirement for the majority of programs. As a supplemental benefit, they may help students and graduates develop professional relationships in the Minor Hill TN medical community and assist with obtaining employment.

Is Job Placement Assistance provided? You will undoubtedly want to secure employment quickly after graduation, but getting that first job in Minor Hill TN in a new field can be challenging without help. Ask if the radiographer schools you are considering have job placement programs and what their success rates are. High and rapid placement rates are an excellent indication that the schools have large networks and great relationships with Tennessee healthcare employers. It also substantiates that their students are well regarded and in demand.

Where is the Program Located? For a lot of students, the college they decide on will have to be within travelling distance of their Minor Hill TN home. Students who have chosen to attend online classes obviously will not have to concern themselves with the location of the campus. However, the availability of local internships will be of concern. One thing to consider is that if you decide to enroll in a college that is out of state or perhaps out of your local area, you may need to pay a higher tuition. State colleges usually charge higher tuitions for out of state residents. And community colleges commonly charge a higher tuition for those students that don’t reside within their districts.

What are the Class Sizes ? Unless you are the sort of student that likes to sit far in the back of the classroom or get lost in the crowd, you will undoubtedly want a smaller class size. Small classes permit more individual participation and one-on-one instruction. Ask the Minor Hill TN schools you are reviewing what the average teacher to student ratio is for their classes. If practical you may prefer to monitor one or more classes before making your ultimate determination. This will also give you a chance to speak with some of the instructors and students to get their opinions regarding the radiology tech program also.

Does the Program Accommodate your Schedule? And last you must verify that the xray tech  college you finally pick can furnish the class schedule you need. This is especially crucial if you choose to continue working while you attend classes. If you need to schedule evening or weekend classes in the Minor Hill TN area, make sure that they are offered. If you can only attend part-time, verify if that is an alternative and how many courses or credit hours you would need to enroll in. Also, learn what the protocol is for making up any classes that you may miss due to illness, work or family emergencies.

Minor Hill is named for Joseph Minor, an early settler in the area. A later owner of the Minor tract donated part of it for the establishment of a school, church, and cemetery in the mid-19th century. A post office was established in 1870, and the city incorporated that same year.[5]

On November 19, 1863, during the Civil War, Confederate scout Sam Davis was captured at Minor Hill. He was taken to Pulaski, where he was executed eight days later. A monument to Davis now stands in Minor Hill at the site where he was captured.[5]

Minor Hill is located at 35°2′18″N 87°10′16″W / 35.03833°N 87.17111°W / 35.03833; -87.17111 (35.038466, -87.171135).[6] The city is situated atop a hill that rises nearly 200 feet (61 m) above the West Fork Shoal Creek Valley, which passes just to the east, in southwestern Giles County. State Route 11 passes through the city, connecting it to Pulaski to the northeast and Lauderdale County, Alabama, to the southwest (the road becomes Alabama State Route 207 at the state line).
